Memoir Journal 2

Affect
One thing that stuck out to me was James Bradley talks about Ira Hays, one of the marines with John Bradley, and he says, "Ira never admitted what was bothering him. But in a letter to his mother about Bougainville he first hinted atthe memories that would haunt him all his life. 'We lost some of our dear buddies... which isn't a very good thing to remember.' page 138.
One reason why I like this quote so much is because I think that all soldiers have things to hide, and its because of this they hide their true emotions. One example is my brother, Chee, when he had returned from Iraq. He didn't tell us much but he kinda hinted towards what happened.
Fav. pass
"Picking a girl is like picking a flower from the garden you only pick the best. Love, Franklin."
One reason why I thought that this was a great passage is because of my brother. He married my sister in law while in the army, and was hoping to come home to his wife.
